“Throat and tongue swollen with thirst, green eyes blazing now with new ecstasy, he knew he had it. He would gain it, would realize that heady height upon which he had elected to stand. Before him lay the Great Secret! The Secret which had made a dead race rule the Universe! And that Secret would be his, Fanner Marston’s, and Fanner Marston would be the ruler, the new ruler, the arbiter of destiny for all the Universe”!
The Burr-Hamilton duel, which would become the most famous duel in America’s history, took place on July 11, 1804. This duel, which took the life of alexander hamilton, would forever change the country’s opinion on dueling. Dueling, just as slavery, was a nasty, customary element of the era. The custom of dueling started in medieval times and came to America, with the Pilgrims, on the Mayflower. Only one year after establishing a colony in Massachusetts, in 1621, Edward Doty and Edward Lester had a sword duel. The punishment for this “crime”?-the two men spent one hour with their ankles tied to their necks. I would say the punishment hardly fits the severity of the crime.

Arthur Laurents’ life was interwoven with Barbra Streisand’s in many ways, not the least of which was his first spotting her talent in “I Can Get It For You Wholesale.” It was at that juncture in Streisand’s career when her vast talent and ambition were yet harnessed by her or anyone else. She was a brilliant, but undisciplined performer. Working in a hamilton the musical san francisco, under Laurents’ direction, Streisand learned. It was a contentious collaboration and the two butted heads. However, both got what they wanted from “Wholesale.” Streisand catapulted to instant fame by stopping the show every night of the run. Laurents got a star turn that held together a ramshackled musical that would have closed in a week if not for Streisand’s “Miss Marmelstein” solo.
Ron finished his drink and noting the condition of his charge Libby, settled up with the bar and went in search of her coat. As soon as he was out of sight, the Bassist for the Midnight Jazz Trio moved in on Libby. His look was that of deep concern, “I’m from down home in Centerville, dear lady. Don’t wait for your coat-get on home as quick as you can.” Libby, recognized a home town rich drawl, but before she could say anything, the Bassist disappeared.
If we start giving the protection of the Constitution to our enemies, our boys will not have a fighting chance on the battle field. My stupidity caused the loss of 27 lives. If we had known what the insurgence were planning, none of these lives would have been lost. Please don’t let these social terrorists hand cuff our military with their bleeding hearts. Come to think of it, maybe every liberal sacks of crap that are calling American Interrogation inhuman, should live through our enemies interrogation before they destroy this countries defenses. Remember this is a war against Terrorists and the worst kind of Terrorist is a Democratic Socialistic Terrorism. For the polices of any government are more damaging than any bullet for the future of our children.

In totality, this Broadway musical brings a lot joyful times, lessons and information about the reality of the past. It ends with much satisfaction on the characters and the story itself. It is certainly a package of perfect show and if you get the Hairspray tickets the amusement is assured.
